Anyone tried this one yet? It's not saving the forum settings to allow uploads.

File updated to correct a couple bugs, but it still doesn't save forum setting.

I have the same problem. It is writing to the vars file but does not seem to reference the setting.

That's how I got 6.0's version to work:

In public_edit_post.pl, public_pm_form.pl, public_new_topic.pl, public_new_reply_form.pl, cp_forums.cgi, use [18] instead of [17].

Is this one working yet? I use it on 6.1.0.3 and am upgrading but my users are already use to having it

yeah it still breaks the polls, you could just have it in a forum where polls aren't enabled though

It doesn't break any poll. Just use Allen's code and change [17] to [18].

I think I changed the file already... I'll re-check it again tomorrow

ahh cheers LK, mine was already installed but turned off, so you've probably already done it Allen, it was just me being a dumbass/pain as usual

I haven't really looked at this hack too closely, but I was just wondering if there was a way to limit the file uploads to a certain size or to .gif or .jpg.

I run a games forum and I'd like to allow members to upload screenshots, but I don't want them to be able to upload anything else. Plus, the default screenshot comes in tga format wich is like a 1meg file. So I don't want to allow them to upload it in the default format.

Rainner I tryed to wait for text version of this hack just like you, but... It seems, that nobody is going to anything about it. So i had to download Multihack from www.multihack.com

It seems, that AllenAyres isn't going to do anything (or he just can't go online and post text file here ).
So i whant to know if there is a way i can generate text file from multihack file. If there is, i'll try to find time to do it...

I used to be a hardcore "text" hack installer. I tried Multihack to no avail manytimes. Finally I gave multihack another shot. Last week in fact is when I started using it. It works like a charm!

I will sit and wait to do a hack now only if it has a multihack file

Can you restrict upload permissions to specific users (VIP's) or is it still wide open to everybody and their uncle? Requested the ability to restrict upload permission a long time ago and got no help Curious if it's been added yet?

So i've multihacked all the files and uploaded them to my server. I chmoded them. I turned on the upload option for my forums in my CP. I specified files extentions in miscelanious settings in CP. And...
I still just can't understand how can i upload a file?!!!!!!!!
I have no link to open upload window. Where should it be?!
Can anybody help? Or can anybody describe how they forced this hack to work...

This hack let's you upload an image or file to server when posting a new topic/reply/pm. There should be an option underneath the UBB code buttons and whatnot saying something along the lines of "Attach a File" with a check box to the left of it.

I don't know how the hack works, because personally I don't want members posting illegal files, but I hope that helped..

Andone who has MultiHack and this hack in it, just click on the >> to the right of 'Export' (when it has been selected) -- that creates a text file .

I'll see if I can create text files (I know I can't actually install -- it crashes my PC).

So i got all this stuff when exported the hack.
You'll still have to obtain upload.cgi and upload_form.cgi , cause i have no place to upload it...
But i still can't force it to work. Any help?

BTW in the data-base section of UBBDev i found this hack for 6.1.x And there was a zip file with text hack (not mhk) and 2 another required files...

And why aren't you satisfied with CP setup? In miscellaneous settings you set the dir... So why do you need to set it up somewhere else?

I had to re-hack cp_lib.cgi and another file.

I now installed the hack (with the textfile). I'm now searching for upload.cgi and upload_forum.cgi. Does anyone have these files for me . If so, I'll make an zip from it and upload it to my server. here's allready a textfile: http://gknet.twistedanime.net/dump/ely.txt

edit: In the text file I told the installerd to chmod both files (upload- and uploadforum.cgi) 755. I don't know if this is right, if not. Tell me and I'll edit the textfile. If everything is correct, maybe a mod or admin can edit alan's post so it links to that file. My server is 24/7 online and pretty fast.

Has anyone got this hack to work in 6.2.1.3? I had to change the multihack in cp_forums, but that seems to have installed correctly. Is there some master "on" switch? I found the stuff in Misc Settings and configured them, but no button in the post screen.

Anyone planning on updating this? I am waiting on upgrading because my site depends on this hack. I want to go to 6.3 when it comes out soon, but heck I can't even go th 6.2.1.3 (only download in members area) because this hack hasn't been updated.

Tried this as my first Multihack last night after upgrading to the 3.0 beta 2 and it does not show up in the reply form (ie the upload form).

Is there some step I need to do after I update the UBB files with the outputted files from Multihack?

I found out what the problem is.

The forum settings are not saving the upload permission setting after I submit. I even modified other settings to make sure it wasn't a permission issue. So it's installed, I just can't give anyone permission to use it .

This is going to be a long day .

Thanks. One thing I did do is that the the $thisforum lines were listed as 17 and should be 18 because of the addition of additional fields. This got the upload yes to actually save in the forum definitions, however I still can't get the upload form link to work on that forum.

In either case thanks in advance. This was my first multihack and after working with it I can see how this tool can save you a lot of headaches.

My mistake I needed to re-add mod_wordlets.

Work fine now, thank for the help.

Ill make a text file when i get home tonight. But i installed the multihack and i dont see any options to upload anyting in the post. I have set all settings in the cp. Any ideas ?

I have ubb 6.2.0 and have installed the multi hack version but have no like to upload.. I have checked all the settings in the cp and everything is set correctly.

i think someone who achieved to get the script to run should post some clear way of conduct, cause the talking that was going on here in the last 40 threats is not worth looking at. ;(

when you do upload a file, is it possible to have a Attachment viewer where it opens another window and the attachment is shown in a seperate table? Here's an example of what i mean: http://forums.ffrepublic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2828 under "Liquid Snake's" post, he had an attachment and when you click the link it opened and showed the image in a new table..
